3. Iteration

What you should focus on

  • Creating the best pitch possible because this is the primary thing the judges will be interfacing with.

  • Get feedback and iterate fast.

  • Make sure you are building something venture scaleable.

Iteration Cycle

  1. Create the pitch.

  2. Get feedback: ask several users, your friends or mentors.

  3. Revise step 1.

Example

  1. I now have a decent pitch v0 that demonstrates what im building.

  2. Talk to mentor: "What can be improved"? -> revise pitch v1

  3. Talk to user: "Would you use this?" -> revise product

  4. Repeat process.

Note

  • Get feedback from 2 or 3 people(it's depends on situation), make the revisions right away, and then get feedback from a new set of people using your updated pitch. There's no value in receiving feedback from 100 people on the same pitch.

  • These iteration cycles should be as fast as possible 1-7 days and you should have some hypothesis in mind, e.g. "Does this new slide make my pitch better?" "Does this new feature delight users?"

  • The speed of iteration depends on what you are building. With consumer products it is normally faster to iterate but for DeFi protocols it might take longer.
